Small businesses/organizations are becoming more sensitive to health and safety practices in their workplaces to help protect their employees.
It is proven that one of the most cost-effective measures of lowering healthcare costs and increasing productivity in the workplace is tobacco cessation. Because of this more organizations or small businesses are adopting tobacco-free policy and procedures and providing employee benefits and services that supports the prevention and cessation of tobacco use.
In order for organizations to protect their employees from second-hand smoke they will need to implement policies and require a smoke-free environment on the entire organization’s property including vehicles and then provide smoking cessation support for their employees and covered dependents.
